Governor Johnson Asiama announced that the BOG plans to begin regulating VASPs by the end of September and will establish a dedicated digital asset unit. 🌍 The BOG emphasized that this registration process is designed to ensure that upcoming regulations are aligned with international best practices. All VASPs, regardless of their operational model, must complete the registration via an online form. The bank also warned that failure to register may result in regulatory sanctions. ⚠️ It is important to note that registration does not equate to a license to operate or imply legal recognition. The BOG reserves the right to issue further directives based on its assessment of the situation.
