🎧TON Core Updates for December 2024 – January 2025
The TON Core team presented
a summary of their work in December 2024 and January 2025, along with plans for the first half of 2025.
Key Achievements:
- Updated the "Accelerator" series on the mainnet for the first time. Added blockchain monitoring capabilities, introduced partial liteservers and proxy liteservers.
- Improved IP address detection of updated nodes, ensuring stable validator migration. Increased limits for unlocking previously stuck v2 wallets.
- Added new instructions that enhance multi-chain communication and block validation in smart contracts. Simplified working with SECP256K1 curves, benefiting BTC Teleport and other applications.
- Implemented support for Ubuntu 22.04 ARM64, added natively compiled TON binaries to the Ubuntu PPA repository, improved Windows builds, and fixed WASM artifacts.
Tools for Validators:
- Validators now exchange version information via the ADNL protocol, speeding up network updates.
- In case of emergency, validators can quickly migrate nodes to a different server.
- Administrators can collect metrics using Prometheus.
- MyTonCtrl can now be installed on a separate server, independent of the validator server.
Tools for Developers:
- Type system has been redesigned by introducing generics, a boolean type, and new syntax to prepare for structured data.
- VSCode and IntelliJ IDEA plugins have been updated to support new TOLK versions, added TL-B schema inspections and constructor tag generator.
- Security: published a checklist of common smart contract errors and vulnerabilities in FunC.
- MyLocalTon-Docker: created a tool to run a standalone TON blockchain in Docker, serving as a simple TVM sidechain.
- SDK updates: released new versions of ton4j, Kotlin SDK, Tonutils-go, and Pythoniq, with extra-currencies examples.
Access Point Interface:
- Additional currencies in API V2 and V3, along with new fields for messages, actions, and account states.

This is the kind of transparency our community has been waiting for. Not long ago, the TON Core team operated stealthily, but now we see regular updates, contests, improved communication, and a clear roadmap for development.
This makes the TON ecosystem stronger and more resilient, the team's work more transparent, and developers and validators more confident in the network’s future.
